The NISI TRUE COLOR ND-VARIO (ND1-5) filter (size 82mm) or HOYA VARIABLE DENSITY II filter (size 77mm or 52mm) is the latest generation of variable neutral density filters, based on HOYA's advanced optical technology. This series is offering even better image quality and more precise exposure control.

The filter provides smooth adjustment of optical density. One filter replaces an entire set of fixed ND filters, eliminating the need to constantly swap them during a shoot.

Features:

• Wider aperture opening in bright conditions — for shallow depth of field (bokeh effect).

• Longer exposure times for motion blur effects (e.g. water, crowds, car lights).

• Exposure control during video recording while maintaining natural motion blur — following the 180° shutter rule.

• Ability to use higher ISO values in bright light without overexposure.
