Tamron 70-180mm f/2.8 Di III VXD VC G2 - Sony FE

The new Tamron 70-180mm f/2.8 Di III VC VXD G2 is the second generation of this fast telephoto zoom for full-frame Sony E mirrorless cameras. It combines high image quality with a compact, lightweight design – ideal for portrait, sports, event and wedding photography as well as video. The constant f/2.8 aperture performs excellently in low light and produces attractive background blur. Built-in VC stabilisation (Vibration Compensation) makes handheld shooting easier, and the fast, precise VXD autofocus tracks moving subjects reliably.

The lens has a minimum focusing distance of 0.3 m at 70 mm, so it also works great for detail shots. Despite the VC stabilisation it weighs only 855 g and is 156.5 mm long, which makes it exceptionally handy for a fast f/2.8 telezoom. It is moisture-resistant, and a fluorine coating protects it from dirt. The lens has a 67 mm filter thread and works with the Tamron Lens Utility app, which lets you customise selected lens functions.
