The classic way to record a guitar cabinet: a Warm Audio WA-FT Fen-tone ribbon microphone and a Shure SM57 dynamic set up together in front of the speaker, two stands and two XLR cables - everything you need to make a guitar sound genuinely big.
Why this pair? The SM57 gives you attack - the pick, the bite and the midrange that cuts through a dense mix. The ribbon does exactly what the SM57 cannot: a figure-of-eight pattern, a gently falling top end and a solid bottom, so it adds body and takes away the harsh spike guitar speakers have around 3-4 kHz. Blended together they give a tone neither microphone produces on its own.
The WA-FT Fen-tone is a modern take on a British ribbon from the sixties - hence the character people look for in rock tones of that era. Ribbons like loud sources, so a cranked cab is their natural habitat.
The two stands are not an extra here, they are the condition for success: the capsules have to sit at an equal distance from the speaker, otherwise the signals start cancelling each other and the blend goes thin. With separate stands you move each microphone independently until the tone settles.
It works just as well on a bass amp, on a snare top and bottom, and on a horn section.
Separately PLN 189 gross per day. In this kit: PLN 135 - you save PLN 54.
