Jinbei EF-100 - film lighting in our rental
In this article we would like to introduce you to the film lighting you can rent for really little money at our film equipment rental. We will try to present in a very accessible way examples of lighting for various film and photography scenes.
Jinbei EF 100 LED Light
Without modifiers, the light produces strong and hard light at a colour temperature close to daylight. We love using it to light subjects from behind, beautifully outlining their contours. We very often shoot using only this light, pointing it into the lens in contra to the camera. In the scene below we used only this light (you can see it in the frame) and additionally softly lit the models' faces with a reflector at the front, bouncing light from the Jinbei lamp. The light also comes with a remote control for switching on/off, dimming, and brightening.
The light has a very handy Bowens-mount modifier system. This means popular photographic softboxes, Beauty Dishes, etc. fit right onto it. With the light you will get a 40 cm Beauty Dish, a bowl with coloured gels, and a snoot. If you want to soften the light, we also recommend renting the diffusion panel, which is part of our reflector kit. In the photo below, the model is lit solely by the Jinbei EF 100 with the Beauty Dish attached.
The Jinbei lamp has an active cooling system with an audible fan, so it is not ideally suited for interviews with sound. And that is not all we have in terms of lighting at our rental. You will find more interesting lights with us — more about them in upcoming news posts.
