Newell BP-190 V-mount - new battery
Can you get excited about a new battery? According to my wife, not really — when I showed her this new rental purchase, she wasn't exactly bursting with enthusiasm ;) But the new Newell BP-190 V-mount battery opens up new possibilities for using our equipment in the field — without access to a power outlet and without the need for expensive generators. Below is a list of equipment that can be paired with the new battery. In practice, it has many more applications. Thanks to the built-in USB output, it can power cameras, USB-powered lights, charge phones, etc. The battery also has a D-TAP output.
Aputure C120D II
This light has a built-in V-mount connector. On the new battery, the light at full power will run for 45–50 minutes. Since this light has a lot of headroom in terms of power, in practical use you can extend this to around 2 hours.
CAME-TV Boltzen 55W
The light has a cable for D-TAP power input. With this connection, the Newell BP-190 will power this light at full power for approximately 3 hours 45 minutes!
Sound Devices MixPre-6M
When recording in the field and using multiple microphones with Phantom Power, this battery enables hours of trouble-free recording on a film set (powered via USB output).
