Sony A7III - our test

We put our Sony A7III through its paces in a simple black-and-white music video. A few technical notes about this production:

  • the intro was shot as a series of RAW stills — burst mode is very fast, allowing RAW at 10 frames per second
  • the rest of the video was recorded in Full HD slow motion at 60 fps
  • to maintain sync with the music, we sped up the soundtrack by 2x and the singer lip-synced to the accelerated track
  • our wind machine was used to simulate wind
  • the video was shot on the 60 cm Rhino slider
  • we used two lenses: the 50mm f/1.4 Leica Summilux and the 85mm f/1.8 Zeiss Batis
  • the actress was lit by 2 lights: Jinbei 150D with a 60x60 softbox (front left) and Came-TV 55w Boltzen (rear right)
